In 2018, over 75% of voters in NSB approved authorizing the City Commission to issue up to $15,000,000 in general obligation bonds to preserve water quality, wildlife habitat, and natural areas along Turnbull Creek.
To date, 151.28 acres have been acquired and rezoned for conservation at a purchase price of $8,942,000, of which $3,577,000 has been refunded to the city through a Florida Communities Trust grant.
