The Brannon Center is the premier corporate and social venue for Central Florida. Conveniently located in New Smyrna Beach on the Intracoastal Waterway, the Brannon Center provides the ideal location for any type of event and includes banquet and meeting facilities, as well as ceremony sites.
The Brannon Center rental options include the Indian River Ballroom, Park View, and River View rooms. On Monday through Thursday, all rooms available separately, or for larger events, these spaces may be combined. On Friday through Sunday, only the entire building rental is available. The Center is ideal for meetings with breakout room options, weddings, anniversary parties, fundraisers, celebrations of life, and more.
For weddings, rental fees may include a complimentary one (1) hour rehearsal upon request. Rehearsals may be scheduled Monday – Thursday (excluding holidays) between 9 am and 3:30 pm. Reservations for rehearsals are booked one month prior to the event date and based on availability. Center staff does not provide coordination services.
Performance Guarantee Deposit & Cancellation
A refundable performance guarantee deposit is required to schedule an event and secure the date. Deposits are in addition to the rental fee, and when submitted, deposited into the City’s General Fund. Deposits returned via City check, up to six (6) weeks following the event. Deductions may be made for damage, excessive cleaning, or time used beyond the contracted period.
Events are only reserved when the Facility Use Agreement is completed, sign and returned along with the deposit. We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, checks and cash (sorry, no American Express). No dates reserved without payment.
The cancellation policy is as follows: 6 - 12 months prior to event - deposit refunded and 100% refund on any payments made.
- 3 - 6 months prior to event - 100% refund on any payments made, no refund of deposit.
- 0 - 3 months prior to event - no refunds on payments, no refund of deposit.
If cancellation occurs within 30 days of the scheduled event, deposit and full rental payment will be forfeited. All cancellations must be submitted in writing.
Catering, Food and Beverage
Catering fees are not included in the Center’s rental price. The Center will work with the caterer of your choice, though a courtesy list is provided of caterers who have successfully partnered with the Center in the past. Please visit our vendors page to view our catering partners.
Coordinate with your chosen caterer to determine what services will be provided. Many caterers have or will develop packages to include set-up/decoration, service and clean up, as well as linens, china, centerpieces, etc. If a caterer has not worked at the Center previously, they must submit license and insurance information and conduct a site visit prior to your event.
Non-Catered Events
Kitchen facilities are available only to the caterers although the licensee may bring in and serve simple or prepared food items Monday – Friday 8:00 am –2:00 pm. The following are examples of simple or prepared food items: breakfast pastries & boxed lunches. No heating elements are permitted. The licensee is responsible for clean up; all of which must occur during the rental period. Center staff must be informed no less than thirty (30) days prior to the rental period if you plan to serve any non-catered food.
Compliance with Ordinance 17-19
Licensee expressly agrees to follow the provisions of City Ordinance No. 17-19, and will refrain from using and distributing polystyrene or polypropylene food service articles and plastic straws, as well as forbid any caterers, vendors, or subsidiaries with whom Licensee contracts to use or distribute such at the Center for Licensee’s event. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall be construed to stop Licensee or its caterers, vendors, or subsidiaries from using alternative materials in their take-out containers and straws, provided they are not composed of the aforementioned prohibited materials.
Compliance with Noise Ordinance 38-72
It shall be unlawful for any person to make, continue, or cause to be made or continued any unreasonably loud, excessive, unnecessary or unusual noise after 10:00 pm. Music must be turned down at this time.
Alcoholic Beverage Policy
All alcoholic beverages must be served via your chosen caterer. Please contact your chosen caterer to learn their policies and procedures regarding alcohol service.
Set-Up
- Licensee is required to submit a floor plan of desired set-up no less than ten (10) days before rental period. Use of the Center’s tables, chairs, A/V equipment and podium is included with the rental. Center staff will set-up tables and chairs provided by the facility but all outside equipment must be setup by licensee or contracted vendor.
- For non-catered events or events where the caterer will not provide set-up/decoration, the rental period must include ALL time needed by the licensee and vendors for decoration, set-up in excess of table and chair arrangement, and clean up.
- Decorations are permitted within reason. They must be approved by Center management no less than ten (10) days prior to your event. Candles, balloons, glitter, flower petals on floor or other confetti like decorations, dry ice/fog machines and cold spark machines ARE NOT PERMITTED. Tape, tacks, nails, staples, etc. are not permitted to attach decorations.
Clean Up
- The rental facility must be returned to the condition it was provided to the licensee.
- Tables and chairs must be cleared of all debris.
- All equipment and materials that are not Center property must be removed. The Center is not responsible for any materials left behind
- Waste and all paper products must be placed in the dumpster.
- For non-catered events or events where the caterer will not provide clean-up, the rental period must include ALL time needed by the licensee and vendors for set-up/decoration, clean-up and to remove all materials that are not Center property.
Rental times MUST INCLUDE all set-up and breakdown of the event. All guests and vendors must vacate the building by the end of the rental period. This includes caterers, DJs, bands, rental services, etc. No Exceptions.
